Ramos to Sampaoli: "Respect to the folks with balls, like you!"
In the press conference before the Real Madrid and Sevilla game, Jorge Sampaoli defended Sergio Ramos and the Real captain had a message for the manager of the opposition.
In the press conference before Sevilla's victory over Real Madrid, Jorge Sampaoli defended Sergio Ramos. The Argentine trainer was acting as pacifier between the Sevilla's faithful and the Real Madrid captain after the latter score a panenka-style penalty in the closing stages of the Copa del Rey game just days before and gestures to the crowd in an unfriendly manner.
Sergio Ramos got wind of Sampaoli's comments and they met before the game. After the photos were taken, the Real Madrid captain made a beeline for the Sevilla dugout where Sampaoli was standing. He looked a mixture of shocked, and intrigued, as to why Ramos would be running towards him.
Respect for Sampaoli
The pair hugged and Ramos said, "Respect to folk with balls, you are one of them...!" This was followed by a pat on the back for the 56-year-old before Ramos ran back into position. Sampaoli's face after the interaction has been doing the rounds as he appears to stare at the ground in disbelief as Ramos looks away.
