Zidane has a score to settle with Berizzo

Real Madrid have rearmed just in time, when on the horizon are challenges that will define their season. Marcelo is ready, James could play against Celta, Bale is back running. Los Blancos were in a state of imminent crisis after the disappointment of their Cup exit, with a somewhat confused Zidane in a difficult situation, but they’re still alive in the essentials: four points clear in LaLiga (with a game in hand) and squad freshness to face Naples in the Champions League.

Calm before the storm

There’s been a sort of dead calm come over Madrid before visiting Balaídos, where a real storm awaits, those Cup executioners, Celta, who’ll again be decisive for Los Blancos’ luck as we enter the final sprint of the season. It is a perfect impasse for Zidane to sleep on. What happened in the Cup cannot happen again (an agonizing draw in the 89th minute) and even less so if Berizzo lowers the level of the team with rotations.

Battle recommences

The Madrid coach must evaluate the recent past, the present and what is on the threshold with intelligence, but in Vigo there is no other option than to come away with all three points and credibility. Zidane has a score to settle with Berizzo, as do Madrid with a Celta who have choked them this season (Real suffered to a 2-1 at the Bernabeu in August). The week has been an unusually relaxed one at Valdebebas, but suddenly the battle commences with a dangerous scenario.
