CELTA - REAL MADRID
Vigo mayor says Real Madrid actions are absurd
Abel Caballero, Mayor of Vigo, spoke to Spanish radio about how he can't understand what Madrid have said following the postponement and believes it hurts Celta season more.
Absurd statements from Madrid
After speaking directly with AS, the mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero, spoke with Spanish radio station, Cadena SER, and made it perfectly clear how he felt about the actions of Real Madrid.
Caballero said, "Madrid have disappointed me. They can't say such absurd things".
He went on to reiterate the importance of the safety reasons behind the decision to postpone Saturday's game. "I don't understand the argument, the risk was evident," before stating that whether it be Real Madrid or a commandment from God (Sursum corda) the most important thing was the safety of the fans.
Not playing hurts Celta more than Madrid
The counsellor also felt that the knock-on effects of the postponement was going to be a greater problem for the team from Vigo: "Celta have a more congested schedule than that of Madrid as they are still in three competitions, and Madrid in just two."
