Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane spoke to the press after his side’s 3-1 victory over Osasuna in El Sadar.
Game: “What I can say is that we came out on top in a difficult game. The opposition played a high line and they gave us plenty of problems.”
Analysis: “It’s unfortunate when you score first and then 10 minutes later the other side equalize because you’re not being smart enough. We lack concentration at times. We could have scored a second and we’re not closing out games.”
Osasuna: “There was no difference at all between the league leader and the side at the bottom. We were made to suffer. I said that we would and that is what happened. In the end you have to play and opposition sides always make it difficult for you. The forwards did very well. We achieved what we set out to achieve.”
Was the 3-5-2 a mistake? “It could be the case and we became bogged down in midfield. They played in a different way but in the end it came out well for us. The team were better in the second half. We had more balance with four defenders closing them down in the centre of the pitch. It made it more difficult for them.”
Lack of concentration: “I don’t know if it’s a lack of concentration. We had the chance to score the second goal and then they equalized. That can happen sometimes but we have to put our chances away. We were better in the second half, we created more chances, we had more balance and we are happy with the result.”
Danilo and Tano: “I’m sorry for the Osasuna player. We all are. Danilo looks like it is a knock, we’ll see tomorrow if that’s the case or not.”
