Espanyol not getting that Friday feeling over fixture list...
The Parakeets are to make an official request not to play so many Friday night games "We have to look out for the fans," said chief exective Ramon Robert. Tenerife vs Getafe: Playoff Final
“Another Friday.” That was the laconic headline on Espanyol’s club website when announcing the fixture against Las Palmas in Cornellà on March 10.
It will be the sixth Friday night game Espanyol have been subjected to this season after last weekend’s fixture against Real Sociedad was scheduled as the first of the weekend’s matches. And Espanyol are not happy about the arrangement.
"It shouldn't always be us"
“We know that our fans are annoyed; Fridays aren’t a day that is in everyone’s interest,” said Espanyol chief executive Ramon Robert this week. “We have to look out for our fans, so that they are able to come to the games. We are going to speak to LaLiga about it. We have a meeting coming up and we’re going to try and do it next week and the point is this: we are being given a lot of Fridays and as there are many teams it shouldn’t be the case that it’s always us.”
