Real Madrid's number 10, James Rodriguez was quick to dampen talk about in-fighting with the players and rumours surrounding his desire to leave the club.
A strong team unit
The Colombian faced several questions from the media after Madrid's 1-4 victory over Eibar one of which surrounded the feeling of solidarity in the performance.
"We are a close-knit group, together, and this was very much reflected on the pitch. We're united as always, we're a healthy group with some incredible people. We always come out to win."
With regards to the Bale-Benzema-Cristiano strikeforce James was clear:
"It's always a plus to have such great players. If the BBC is available, it's always going to be important". He also denied rumours that players felt Cristiano was given special dispensation no to track back calling the claims "totally false".
Targeting a long stay in Madrid
The man who came to Los Blancos with such high expectations has not had as much pitch time this season as he, and his many fans, would have hoped for but his view was aligned to the success of the team:
"When I am given opportunites I always try and do well. This is all I think about. I want to always be here. It's clear that in life and football you never know what is going to happen but I want to remain here."
Update 12 May 2017: James has reached an initial agreement with Manchester United.
