Tirreno victiry ahead of Giro d'Italia

Colombia's Nairo Quintana claimed his second title from the Tirreno-Adriatico stage race on Tuesday despite finishing well off the podium in the seventh and final stage time trial.

Australia's Rohan Dennis, of the BMC team, claimed the final stage victory after powering over a 10 km race against the clock in a winning time of 11min 18secs. France's Thibaut Pinot ended in third place.

Movistar rider Quintana, a favourite for the Giro d'Italia next May, last won the Tirreno in 2015.
