Barcelona and Bayern Munich favourites for Champions League
After the PSG first leg Luis Enrique's team drifted with the bookmakers but the Camp Nou miracle has given more than the Blaugrana fans something to feel optimistic about.
From failures to favourites
Just ten days ago, many were resigned to the fact that FC Barcelona would be exiting the Champions League before the quarter final stage. Fast-forward to the eve of the Uefa draw for that stage and you will see a shiny ball within which a neatly folded peice of paper will have the Catalan club's named printed. And to boot, most bookmakers have reinstalled them as favourites to lift the trophy.
The other club that is being heavily backed is that of Bayern Munich with little to choose between Ancelotti's side and Luis Enrique's. Both these manager's have tasted European Cup glory before and the average financial return ahead of the draw being made tomorrow is just short of four euros for every one bet for the two sides, Barcelona at 3.84 and Bayern at 3.90. Of course, anyone who lumped on Barça in between the two PSG games can sit smugly with their 40/1 or so ticket tightly grasped.
Holders Madrid and outsiders Leicester
Current holders of the title, Real Madrid, are third favourites with an average return of 5.69 euros per single one placed. As long as their current saviour Sergio Ramos stays fit, some will think this makes good sense.
At the other end of the betting scale sit Monaco (around 18/1) and Leicester (35/1) but after their recent exploits, it's likely that some interested speculators will have a flutter.
