Gianluigi Buffon gave his views on tomorrow's Champions League quarter final as Juventus aim to secure a first leg advantage over Barcelona in Turin.
Memories of the Berlin final: "I haven't watched it since, but my memories of it are quite lucid. Those memories make me feel relatively optimistic in the sense that, at that time, we were up against a side which was much stronger than us. Now we are up against the same team, and on paper they are superior to us but we have two years' more experience and a run in Europe which gives us the self esteem to go into this tie not as victims, but with the spirirt to emerge as winners".
Juventus have slowly advanced, says Buffon
The toughest rivals possible: "Barcelona have a very defined philosophy in the way they play - a style which for many years, has led them to win all of the trophies we know about; we on the other hand, have changed over the past 10 years - we have been through difficult times but we have returned to where we belong. We have made progress, step by step - little by little the team has been acquiring a conscientiousness; that's the best thing that's happened to us after so many years. We are aware that we will be taking on the strongest rival we could face but everything is different in the Champions League and it's going to be a great game, however it turns out".
Barça's 'MSN': "I can't think of any other team who have three such strong stikers in attack as Barça - in saying that I don't want to sound disrespectful to other teams but it's evident that a side who play with those three is going to be devastatingly strong in attack and any coach would love to have those three up front. I'm excited and a little nervious about facing them in a game of these characteristics".
Buffon's son is a big fan of Messi, Suárez and Neymar
Messi fan: "I have the enemy at home (laughs). I love it that my son is such a big fan of players like Messi, Neymar and Luis Suárez - it makes me think that he must have very good taste. I have told him that Messi has never scored against me, but then I've been lucky enough to have have had to face him that often...".
Barça's comeback against PSG: "I watched it. When the whistle went I thought to myself: 'Life has just shown me something new!'. Just when you think you have seen it all or know something, life will suprise you with something brand new".
