ATLETICO MADRID

Sandro's agent meets player to lay out Atletico offer to him

After the meeting at the Vicente Calderon, Sandro's agent met his client in Las Palmas to explain to him where Atletico's appeal is at and what they have offered.

Sandro is a target for Atletico Madrid this summer and he is a player classified as "the steal of the market" by his manager Michel at Malaga. The former Barcelona striker's agent, Ginés Carvajal, met with Atletico earlier in the week and Atletico's intention is to sign the player as they wait for their TAS appeal, which will dictate much of what they can do in the summer.

Carvajal met the player in Las Palmas on Wednesday to present him with the offer that Atletico prepared for the player. They dined at La Marinera on the Playa de las Canteras. The interest from the Vicente Calderon is strong but Carvajal is treating it with caution as he is aware of the fragile state of Atletico's transfer business. He is also aware of the competition in the squad.

Competition at Atletico

Fernando Torres could be set to continue at the club along with Griezmann and the arrival of another striker is not out of the question either. Sandro left Barcelona on a free transfer last summer as chances were few and far between but he wants to continue as he did in Malaga last season, playing on a weekly basis.

There has also been talk of the possibility of a failed appeal, which would leave Sandro in no-man's land if he was to commit his future to Atletico too soon. He has offers from the Premier League and the meeting with his agent served to discuss where the appeal currently stands. Atletico are keen to sign the player regardless of the appeal but convincing the player is a hurdle they have to clear.
