Ousmane Dembele, 'disappointed' with Dortmund means Barça move could be back on
The winger is not happy with how the club treated coach Thomas Tuchel: "I'm very disappointed because he was a coach who really built my confidence".
Borussia Dortrmund's Ousmane Dembélé could be a step close to signing for Barcelona. One of the reasons why the 20-year-old might be plotting his exit was for the way the club dismissed Thomas Tuchel - a decision which has clearly angered him. "I'm very disappointed because he was a coach who really built my confidence. Thomas was laways there for me and he taught me a lot. Tuchel sacking causes resentment at Dortmund
Dortmund decided to sack Tuchel due to apprehension among the club's top brass and in particular, CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke. Tuchel was under contract until 2018, which means that he is due to receive a redundancy package of 2.9 million euros. His dismissal hasn't gone down well with other key players and could accelerate departures of others, including Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang...
Barcelona tried to sign Dembélé last year
Barcelona attempted to sign the France international last season when he was still on the books at Rennes. In the end he decided to join Dortmund where he would have more chances of gaining experience in Europe. He was one of the team's key players last season and practically played every game. He ended the campaign with 6 goals and 13 assists in Bundesliga, 2 goals and 6 assists in the Champions League and a further 2 goals and 2 assists in the German Cup.
