The Cristiano situation could affect Morata's exit from Real
Following the havoc caused by reports of Ronaldo's desire to leave the club, Madrid are considering putting a halt to negotiations to take the Spanish striker away from the Bernabéu.
A knock-on effect
The shock waves sent through Real Madrid following Cristiano's reported desire to leave the club could have a knock-on effect on this summer's transfer dealings, one of which is the situation involving Álvaro Morata.
A done deal?
Initially, negotiations to take Morata to Manchester United were in the latter stages, and the striker had already reached an agreement with the Red Devils. The only piece of business remaining was for the Premier League club to move their offer closer to Madrid's asking price. In fact, a meeting was scheduled for the coming week to close the deal.
Goalscoring options
As things stand, if Ronaldo does finally push for a move away from the Spanish capital, Morata's future will remain in the balance; Los Blancos will need to find their goals from somewhere, and with a Ronaldo-sized hole left to fill, the Spain striker, a proven goalscorer who has been crying out for more game-time, could be just the man.
