Sánchez is involved in transfer negotiations, contract details, the club's economic strategy and the development of the club's international marketing brand. Raúl has been offered the position given his high profile in the world of football, his business experience gained whilst living in New York and of course his past as a emblematic player at the Bernabeu.

LaLiga ambassador

Since hanging up his booths with New York Cosmos, Raúl has been working with the Spanish football league (LaLiga) in an ambassadorial role. He has studied sports business and developed and understanding for the college and professional sports model in the USA as well as the mechanics of the NASL and MLS structures.

Valdebebas

There was speculation following the departure of Víctor Fernández that Raúl would oversee the youth team system at Valdebebas but finally everything points to that function being administered by Ramón Martínez and Juni Calafat.

The 39 year old will also act as an axis between the club's directors and the first team squad and Raúl travelled with the squad to the recent Champions League final in Cardiff as part of the official expedition. July 3 is the date earmarked for the former player to officially take up his new position at the Santiago Bernabeu and some seven years the legendary Real Madrid No.7 finally "comes home".
