Atlético Madrid: Inter Milan make José María Giménez enquiry
The Serie A club have joined Man United and Liverpool in eyeing defender Giménez, who is thought to be considering his Atlético future.
Inter Milan have asked Atlético Madrid about the availability of central defender José María Giménez as the Serie A outfit look to build a competitive side under new head coach Luciano Spalletti next season.
Giménez mulling over Atlético future
Giménez, who is also interesting Manchester United and Liverpool, is keen to play more regularly and is thought to be seriously considering his future at Atlético.
The Uruguayan, 22, struggled to displace first-choice centre-backs Diego Godín and Stefan Savic last term, making just 17 LaLiga appearances for Los Rojiblancos despite also being used in defensive midfield and at right-back.
And with the World Cup coming up in 2018, Giménez is particularly anxious to secure more game time to make sure of his international spot.
Atlétcoi don't want Giménez to move on
However, Atlético have made it clear to Giménez that they wish to keep hold of him. The Spanish capital club consider the player to be very much a part of their immediate and - with Godín now 31 - longer-term plans.
Any prospect of Giménez leaving this summer would also be complicated by Atleti's transfer ban, which would prevent them from replacing him until January.
