According to the English press, De Gea to Real Madrid could be back on but Manchester United will not budge on their asking price for the goalkeeper.

David de Gea and Real Madrid rumours will not go away. The English media remain adamant that a bid is forthcoming as the two teams prepare for their new seasons in LA and will play the International Champions Cup starting on July 23rd in Santa Clara, California.

The Daily Mail says that an offer will arrive but De Gea, who was reportedly keen to move back to Madrid, will not push to leave Old Trafford after what happened two summers ago with the fax machine. Adding to that, Manchester United remain unmoved in their valuation of the players. €70 million or nothing.

The report also claims that Manchester United might have pinpointed their replacement for De Gea. Kasper Schmeichel could follow in his father's footseps in waring the goalkeeper's jersey for Jose Mourinho's side as they would prop a potential bid up with the money gained from a De Gea deal. Half of the money precisely, as they claim it would take €35 million to pry the Danish shot-stopper from the former Premier League champions, Leicester City.

Rumours of a move for De Gea cooled for a number of weeks when it seemed Gio Donnarumma would not renew with AC Milan as Real Madrid and Florentino Perez' gaze was fixed on Italy to see what would happen at the Serie A club. After some discussions, however, the young goalkeeper decided to renew, which means Real Madrid will have to look elsewhere for their number one.

United do have some leverage going into the fight with De Gea having a much more fluid relationship with Jose Mourinho than he ever had with Louis van Gaal along with Emilio Alvarez, United's goalkeeping coach, who has De Gea's trust and complete confidence.
