Ex-Oviedo, Rayo and Swansea striker Michu calls it a day - his career in pictures
Miguel Pérez Cuesta, Michu came through the youth ranks at Real Oviedo. He made his first team debut on 26 October 2003. Michu was key in steering Oviedo to ptomotion the following season.

He joined Celta B in 2007 and locked down a place in the first team in the Second Division. After four seasons with the Celestes, he joined Rayo Vallecano.

Michu really exploded onto the scene at Rayo Vallecano, smashing 17 goals in his first season and ending as one of the top scorers in the division. He also scored the fastest goal for an away team against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.

He joined Swansea in 2012 for just 2 million euros and scored 18 goals in 35 Premier League games, helping the Swans qualify for the Europa League.

After a discreet second season with Swansea, he joined Rafa Benítez's Napoli on loan in 2014. But he succumbed to injury not long after arriving in Italy.

After a lengthy time out injured, Michu decided to return home and start from zero. He joined Langreo, where his brother was coach in Spain's fourth tier. He hit 10 goals in 17 appearances for the team.

On19 August 2016 he signed a two-year deal with Real Oviedo but decided to hang up his boots at the end of his first season to concentrate on gaining his coaching license.
