José Mourinho answered questions from the media after Sunday's International Champions Cup clash between Manchester United and Real Madrid - including one about Álvaro Morata's move to Chelsea. United had hoped to bring in the Spanish centre-forward this summer but disagreed on the asking price. Mourinho says that as far as he is concerned, the issue is closed but he wishes Morata well.

Morata is water under the bridge for United, says Mourinho

"“It might be interesting for you [the Spanish press], because your job is to write about matters relating to Real Madrid but for me, I’ve nothing to gain by talking about this issue now. Álvaro is with Chelsea. It was his decision. What else can I say? I wish him the best of luck and I wish him happiness. There’s no point in me talking in about what has happened and what might have happened”, Mourinho explained in the Levi's Stadium press room after the game.

Morata to make Chelsea debut against Bayern Munich

Morata has joined up with the Chelsea squad in Singapore and while he didn't take part in the weekend win over Arsenal, he could make his debut for the Blues against Bayern Munich on Wednesday although manager Antonio Conte says he will not be in the starting XI: “Morata is our first choice for sure. He’s a very good striker – a player with the right prospects for Chelsea and he’s very young. I’m sure he can improve a lot and I I hope to show his value with us”.
