Iniesta's contract situation: “There is no preliminary agreement"
The Barça midfielder also said: "Whether I stay or not, there will never be any problem. I love Barça so much that I will never be a conflict. This is my home".
Barcelona midfielder Andrés Iniesta discussed his current situation in the mixed zone after his side's 5-0 thrashing of Espanyol in the Catalan derby.
Contract renewal: "This is a normal situation with the club. My contract finishes and we've been in talks for some time. What's happening is happening and all I want is to play football at my club, which is the best place for me to be. I'm not distracted; I'm focused. I'm not thinking about anything other than playing well on the pitch. My mind is on Barça being the best it can be".
Meeting: "I'll never put anything personal before the good of the club. What happened was a misunderstanding with the president; it wasn't a reaction to contradict anyone. I said what was happening, but whether I stay or not there won't be any problem. I love Barça so much that there will never be a conflict".
Words: "A preliminary agreement is when it's almost closed, but that's not the case. I understand the way things are happening nowadays and some people firing things up. I'm relaxed about it. Being in this situation is normal; you just assess things. I'm focused on my game and we'll see what happens in the future; what matters is renewing. When something happens people will find out through the media".
