Cristiano Ronaldo returned to official action for Real Madrid a month after being sent off in the Spanish SuperCup against Barcelona. He was keen to make his mark too and after a full round of games has been played, no player has taken more shots than the Portuguese with 10 attempts in 90 minutes.

Three were first in the direction of Boy Waterman in APOEL's goal, two ended up as goals. Six of the attempts went wide and the other one hit the crossbar.

Ronaldo is tied for eforts on goal with Roberto Lewandowski, who also had three. The Pole scored against Anderlecht but while Ronaldo hit the crossbar, there is another player who can outdo him on that front. Saul hit the woodwork twice in Atletico's game against Roma without scoring.

On Sunday, against Real Sociedad at the Anoeta, Ronaldo celebrates his last game on the suspended list. Ronaldo then returns against Real Betis on Wednesday and will play in the Champions League again on September 26th when Real Madrid travel to Dortmund where they have never won after six visits.
