Chile were ruled out of a spot at World Cup 2018 by finishing sixth in South American qualifying and with that, the war broke out. La Roja were beaten by Brazil, 3-0 in Sao Paulo, and the team are left with plenty to ponder after a disasterous campaign. After the defeat, Claudio Bravo's family took to social media to speak out about the dysfunction within the squad.

Bravo's wife said, "Thank you, my Captain America, for all that you have lived through. It was really beautiful. But when they put on the shirt it has to be with professionalism. I know that most of them fought their asses off, while others were going to parties and even did not train due to their hangovers."

In an anonymous interview, one of his teammates lambasted the Manchester City goalkeeper's family: "He was no saint and his family are coming out giving lectures in ethics. That is not acceptable. These things are internal and they should stay internal, the rest is betrayal," the anonymous Chilean said.

Others who were criticised also responded including Claudio Bravo. The Bayern Munich player wasin for particular criticism from Bravo and he said, "While they are talking, I'll continue working and working to continue getting better and to take my career to another level."
