José Ángel Sánchez, Real Madrid's director general, is in China this week as he tries to push the club's brand in Asia and says los Blancos will not sign anyone in January.

"We don't have plans to do any deals in January. In any case, that would be a question for the manager of the team, but we are not focusing on the January transfer market," he said.

"We have no intention of signing anyone, it's the truth," he insisted as it seems the club have decided what course they will take provided no significant injuries take place between now and then.

Some suggested that a run at a striker to stand in for Karim Benzema might be necessary or the possibility of Julian draxler landing at the Bernabéu as part of a PSG clear-out but Sánchez' firm stance will silence those rumours for the coming months.
