Bayern steal a march on rivals to snap up Helsingborgs starlet

Bayern Munich have moved swiftly to beat their European rivals to the signature of Sweden youth international and Helsingborgs IF attacking midfielder Alex Timossi Andersson.

The Allianz Arena board announced the deal on the club’s official website with the 16-year-old set to join the Bundesliga giants at the end of the 2018-19 season, when he is 18, in a move similar to that Real Madrid agreed with Flamengo for Vinicius Jr.

Andersson already a senior at club level

Andersson is a quick, attacking player who started on the right wing but has moved into more of a number 10 role for his club, for who he has made 16 senior appearances this season. He has also played for Sweden at under-15 and under-16 level, scoring eight in 11 games.

Alex Timossi Andersson is a very talented player. We’re confident he will find his feet at FC Bayern,” the Bayern statement reads. “Before joining us he’ll continue to gain experience at Helsingborg IF and develop in his familiar surroundings.”
