Rafa Nadal relaxes on idyllic beach before 2018 tennis season
Nadal has posted a photo of himself kicking back with friends and family on a beach, possibly on the Mexican island of Cozumel.
Spanish tennis ace Rafa Nadal is currently kicking back on the beach before getting preparations underway for the new season, which officially begins on 1 January with the 2018 Brisbane International tournament.
Nadal posts holiday photo on social media
Nadal took to social media on Friday to post a photograph in which he can be seen surrounded by friends and family on an idyllic beach that could be on the Mexican island of Cozumel, where he has invested in two luxury hotels.
On Monday, the current men's world number one will be at Diario AS's 50th-anniversary awards ceremony in Madrid, where he will be presented with an award honouring him as Spain's greatest sportsman of the past half-century.
Nadal to return to competition in Abu Dhabi
The 31-year-old is scheduled to return to the court at the Mubadala World Tennis Championship, an exhibition event held in Abu Dhabi from 28 to 30 December whose line-up also features Stanislas Wawrinka, Novak Djokovic, Pablo Carreño Busta, Milos Raonic and Dominic Thiem.
