Cristiano Ronaldo becomes top goalscorer in the Club World Cup
The Portuguese was tied with Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Cesar Hidalgo before the Al Jazira game and his strike in the second half gave him ownership of the record.
Cristiano Ronaldo continues to break records. The latest one is the Club World Cup goalscoring record. With his effort to draw Real Madrid level in the second half against Al Jazira, the Portuguese landed his sixth goal in the competition.
It is the fourth time Ronaldo has competed in the tournament and his third time with Real Madrid - he made it to the Club World Cup with Manchester United in 2008 also. In total, he has scored six goals in seven matches with three assists in those games.
Before the Al Jazira game, he was tied with Lionel Messi, Luis Suárez and Cesar Hidalgo with five goals. On Saturday, against gremio, Cristiano has a new chance to further his record in the tournament.
