Manchester United fans have already been made aware of the prices for the Sanchez Pizjuan stadium where their side will play the away leg of the Champions League Last 16 against Sevilla. And they're not best pleased.

Sevilla increase prices for Red Devils

Of the total allocation afforded the visiting supporters, 2,450 seats will be priced at 100 euros and 200 of them at 150 euros. The rationale given for these prices is that as it is the knock-out stages of the showpiece tournament and therefore a huge occasion, and also that this is not an unusual practice for the club.

However, as the Manchester Evening News reports, when Sevilla recently hosted fellow Premier League sides the ticket costs were significantly less. In this season's group stage, travelling Liverpool fans were asked to cough up 61 euros for a seat, while last season Leicester City fans paid around 57 euros. The game against the Foxes was also in the Last 16.

United front for fairness

Following this news, Manchester United Supporters Trust (MUST) have said:

"It is too early to know whether we can change this but we are already in contact with both Manchester United and Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and will be lobbying UEFA and other bodies who may be able to influence this exploitative pricing."

The game at the Sanchez Pizjuan is scheduled for Wednesday 21 February.
