Sister also under investigation

Pina's long time associate and sister Elena Pina (also a Cádiz CF employee) was also under investigation as the offices of the Andalusian football club at their Ramón de Carranza stadium and the club Ciudad Deportiva de El Rosal training ground were taken over by officers investigating the case.

There was a similar scene at Granada's Estadio de Los Cármenes where Pina was club president between 2009 and 2016 where, under Pina the club played in both Spanish first and second divisions.

Cadiz's legal head Martín José García Marichal spoke to the media outside the stadium stating: "All we can do is collaborate with the police investigation which has been initiated from Madrid. It's important to clarify that Cádiz CF, the club is not under investigation but one of the club's employees which makes this an uncomfortable situation. I'm hopeful that this is a matter than can be resolved as soon as possible".

Both Cadiz and Granada return to LaLiga 123 action this weekend to maintain their respective efforts to secure a place in the top flight of Spanish football.
