Paco Jemez' problems seem never-ending. After selling Jonathan Viera, arguably his best player, during the week, Pedro Bigas could be out for the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

Las Palmas are facing down relegation and Jemez says the team have to find alternatives. "I already gave my opinion about his exit. Our style is going to remain the same, but now the responsibility will have to be picked up by another teammate," he said on Viera's departure. the club have not brought anyone in to replace the vital Viera and Jemez says, "It's because things are difficult and it's a difficult challenge. I always thought that these situations are when a person show their worth and it's a good situation for everyone to show our value."

Paco Jemez relishing the challenge for Las Palmas

With the exit of the youth team player, Alen Halilovic is a name that has been thrown around as a possible player to replace him, "I hope that everyone takes a step forward and not just Halilovic. The minutes he has played have been very good, although he still has to give a little more. He has won the chance to start playing and I expect a lot from him. He is excited and now he has two and a half months to show the good player he is and to assume responsibility. But the same as him, many others like Tana Calleri.... and me too, no doubt."

"We are fighting for something humble that is to stay in the top flight, to make history because nobody has survived with 11 points in the first half of the season. I like to fight to be first for something, but things have become more complicated because when I arrived it was a somersault and now it is a triple somersault with a corkscrew. The challenge for me is much more beautiful."
