SD Eibar's compact Ipurua stadium woke up this morning with a think blanket of almost 14 cm of snow as the Siberian weather affecting much of northern Europe made it's presence felt in the Iberian peninsula. Ground staff at the Basque club now face a race against the clock in preparing the playing surface for tonight'sEibar-Villarreal LaLiga game schedule for a 21:30 CET start.

Eibar have confirmed that their club offices will remain closed today due to the inclement weather and at yet there has been no communique from either club or LaLiga to suggest the game will not go ahead.

The snowfall also disrupted played havoc with the arrival of the Villarreal squad being delayed due to the closure of Bilbao airport. Calleja and his squad will, be based in neighbouring Durango and are set to return to the Mediterranean city tomorrow.
