The Ligue 1 leaders want to reinforce their rearguard and Atleti's Slovenian goalkeeper is the man they have identified, according to Radio MonteCarlo.

Jan Oblak has plenty of admirers knocking at his door. Arsenal and Chelsea are rumoured to be squabbling for his services in the Premier League, and RMC (Radio MonteCarlo) has stated that PSG are considering paying the ‘keeper’s €100 million release clause this summer.

Areola unconvincing for PSG

The Ligue 1 leaders are not expected to offer an improved contract to incumbent goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, who has failed to convince this season. Oblak would represent a genuinely world-class replacement.

The Slovenia international will play his 150th match for Atlético Madrid on Sunday, as Deportivo La Coruña visit in LaLiga. He has conceded an average of 0.6 goals per game during his time in the Spanish capital.

Oblak says 'nothing new' in Atlético contract talks

Oblak recently disclosed to the press in Slovenia that there is little movement regarding a contract renewal at Atlético.

"As for the possibility of a new contract with Atlético, I can only say one thing: there's nothing new,” the 25-year-old said. “I've seen what has been written in the press - some claim everything has been sorted and others are saying that I won't be offered a new contract. The only thing I do know is there are no updates, nothing new.

“I have a contract which I signed two years ago and you, the media, want to know what is going to happen now. We'll soon find out what Atlético's plans are."

In Germany, Kicker has already suggested that Bayer Leverkusen ‘keeper Bernd Leno could replace an outbound Oblak at the Wanda Metropolitano. He would command a fee in the region of €25m.
