Problems for Zidane: Isco and Carvajal to miss Bayern game
The midfielder has suffered a sprain to his left shoulder, while the right-back has a problem with his left hamstring.
Problems for Zidane ahead of Tuesday's semi-final return leg against Bayern Munich at the Santiago Bernabéu - Isco and Dani Carvajal are almost certain to miss the game after picking up injuries in the first leg at the Allianz Arena.
Madrid with injury worries ahead of return leg
Isco was replaced by Marco Asensio at half-time; he was on the end of a challenge from Boateng at the start of the match and suffered an injury to his shoulder. Today, Real Madrid issued the following medical report:
"After the tests carried out today by the Real Madrid Sanitas Medical Services on our player Isco, he has been diagnosed with a left acromioclavicular sprain. His recovery will continue to be assessed".
Carvajal taken off in Munich
Dani Carvajal was also in the wars in the first leg, and was taken off with a muscular injury on 66 minutes, with Benzema coming on on his place. According to Madrid's medical release from this morning: "After the tests carried out today by the Real Madrid Sanitas Medical Services on our player Dani Carvajal, he has been diagnosed with a muscular injury in the left femoral biceps hamstring. His recovery will continue to be assessed".
When consulted on both player's chances of making the return leg, Doctor José González told AS: "Both are practically guaranteed to miss the Bayern game. I'm sure that Carvajal, who is looking at two to three weeks out, and maybe Isco, if it was the final, could be risked with pain-killing injections but the standard procedure would be for medical staff to advise that both players rest, as a precaution in case Madrid make the final".
