REAL MADRID 2 - LEGANÉS 1
Zidane: "Against Bayern, we will have to do what we haven't done all season"
The Real Madrid manager spoke about the Leganés game but many of the questions were about Tuesday with Bale, Achraf and Benzema on the agenda.
Zinedine Zidane spoke to the media after his rotated side beat Leganés on Saturday at the Bernabéu.
Feelings: "The second half was a bit complicated, we didn't find our game but I will stick with the first, it was good and the attitude of all the players. We changed 10 players and many of them didn't have many minutes. You have to congratulate them for three points.
Bayern: "It is our game, the game of the season. We arrive into it well but it doesn't mean anything. You have to have a massive game."
What you want from the game against Bayern: "That they are with us from minute one to minute 90. We will have to do what we haven't done this year: in concentration, in our play, in the battles, in everything, to be in the Champions League final."
Will Nacho play against Bayern? "He is an option. He might play. But Nacho still hasn't trained with the team. It might be complicated for him to make it. Later, we will see how we arrive into the game. It might be complicated to have Nacho with us."
Did you want to try Casemiro at centre-back against Bayern? "It was just to give rest. To leave Sergio at home. Rafa was a little off and the only option was with Jesus Vallejo as centre-back. I will not repeat it. I'm not interested in playing Casemiro at centre-half."
Why is Achraf not an option as a right-back on Tuesday? "Nothing happend! There are decisions. Achraf is here. He is young. It's his first year with the first team. We have to be slow with him. We will se what we do on Tuesday. Today, he played well. He is learning. On Tuesday you will see what we do."
What does Bale have to do to play on Tuesday? "He has to do the same. The same as he has been doing. Work. Today he did well. You don't know who will play on Tuesday."
Are you worried about Benzema? "I will put on my smile. I see him like always. I see him well and maybe others are worried. I'm not."
Bale has missed a lot of the last games. Has his status changed? "No. I don't see status. I don't see it like this. There may be some players that are quote unquote more important than other. But for my they are all important. Everyone has the right to think they are starters. I can only pick the players that must play and which ones to be changed. For me, he continues being important. He continues being the player that can support. We can talk about Bale but they are choices."
