Bologna defender Giancarlo González feels that Keylor Navas, his team mate in the Costa Rica national team, is "a winner" and it is precisely his positive mentality that has enabled him to win everything with Real Madrid.

In an interview with EFE, González praised Keylor's leadership qualities with the national team and said he hopes the keeper will continue with Real Madrid and eventually end his playing days at the club.

Hard worker, humble and dedicated

"Keylor is our star player; he's a reference in our country, as a player and as a person. We're proud that he is part of our national team - for his great work ethic, the way he prepares for our games, his eagerness to win in every training session and every game", González explained. "He's a winner and that's why he is where he is today and achieved everything he has achieved", in reference to the two Champions League titles, three Club World Cups, three European Super Cups which the keeper has won along with domestic trophies including LaLiga and the Spanish Supercopa nacional.

And Pipo González insists that Keylor is the type of player who will respond to his critics out on the pitch. "He wants to end his career at Madrid and I think that's exactly what he'll do. He's shown what he is capable of through deeds, not words and it's only fair that he is respected for that", he continued. "He is a very humble person, he only thinks about winning but like the rest of us, he's only human. He has his goals, his objectives and things he strives to achieve in life. But humility is something which he will never lose - he's from a small village, a humble, modest neighbourhood in Costa Rica and all of that has helped him to grow, to mature and get to where he is now".
