Referee Melero López warns Piqué: "Don't threaten me"

During Barcelona's whirlwind defeat to Levante on Sunday evening, Barcelona centre-back Gerard Piqué was booked for an altercation with referee Melero López. López could be seen warning Piqué: "Careful now; don't touch me," after he blew up for a foul by Yerry Mina and subsequently booked the Colombian.

Threats

After Piqué refused to let the matter drop and remained in close proximity to López, he too went into the book but continued to protest, before being told "Don't threaten me; don't threaten me," by López, to which he replied "Don't you threaten me. You're the one threatening me; you're the one threatening me," while pointing his finger.

Cards

The images captured by Movistar Plus show both at the end of the game shaking hands, but with Piqué grabbing López's arm and touching his back as the latter tells him once again: "Don't touch me" and pulls out a yellow card which seems to be for Piqué but is not followed by a red. The post-match report clarifies that the card was in fact for Jordi Alba for contesting a decision.
