Odegaard: "A loan to a Spanish club is a good option"
The Norweigan midfielder ruled out a move back to Heerenveen but says he will do preseason with Real Madrid if no loan deal can be agreed before that.
Real Madrid midfielder, Martin Odegaard, who spent last season on loan at Heerenveen admits that he is uncertain about his future. The young Norweigan is sure that he wants consistent minutes wherever he plays and is not ruling out another loan move.
"The important thing is to go to a team where I can play," he said. "A loan to another Spanish club is a good alternative but right now, I don't know a whole lot," he continues to tell Norweigan agency NTB.
Odegaard was called up to the Norweigan squad to play in upcoming friendlies even if he can't feature due to injury. He is recovering from a metatarsal fracture that he suffered in April.
He is in the final phase of recovery and will be ready for preseason with Real Madrid if no moves materialise before that. "I don't know what's going to happen, but if nothing happens, I'll do preseason with Madrid and it's a great chance to show myself," he said. He did, however, rule out a move back to the Dutch side as he calls his time with the team "a closed chapter".
"It's great," he said when asked about Real Madrid's historic Champions League victory on Saturday night. "There is no doubt who is the best," he finished.
