REAL MADRID

Italian media links Ronaldo with move to Juventus

Tuttosport argues Juventus have the financial resources of the Agnelli family and a so-called 'super-agent' that could seal the signature of Ronaldo, who, it claims, has rejected an offer from Real Madrid.

Update:
Italian media links Ronaldo with move to Juventus

Cristiano Ronaldo has barely had time to let his World Cup exit sink in, and already the rumours regarding his future at Real Madrid have been reignited. This time by Italian paper Tuttosport, which has has dedicated its front page today to the possible arrival of the Portuguese captain, with the title: “Ronaldo-Juve, what a story!”

In the front page article, the newspaper highlights some key points in this very complicated operation: Cristiano is now out of the World Cup and has a desire to find his next club; the one-billion-dollar release clause on his contract could cease to be valid; and the striker has already rejected an offer from Real Madrid for a new contract worth 30 million euros.

Juve seek Champions League glory

Juventus, meanwhile, are fixated on winning their third Champions League title, and Ronaldo would be the ideal figure to help them break their shameful record of seven final defeats. The article argues that signing the five-time Ballon d’Or winner would be possible thanks to the economic resources of the Agnelli family, the club’s owners, and the influence of Jorge Mendes, the man known as “the Tom Cruise of agents”, who has resumed working with Juventus to oversee the signing of Portuguese defender João Cancelo from Valencia this summer.

No doubt many Juventus fans will be hoping the so-called super-agent can help to bring another Portuguese star to Turin for next season, as they look to win their first Champions League trophy since 1996.
