The operation to take Cristiano to Italy this summer has entered its final stage. After having met with Massimiliano Allegri (interrupting the coach's holidays) and club CEO Giuseppe Marotta last week, this week, Juventus president Andrea Agnelli has taken a private jet from Pisa to Kalamata in southern Greece where he has arranged a meeting with Cristiano Ronaldo.

The meeting with the Real Madrid No.7 isn't an attempt to convince him to join the Vecchia Signora - that was agreed some time ago. It will be the first step towards a new adventure with the Italian champions for Cristiano; AS understands that Agnelli has arranged to meet with Cristiano in person to welcome him to Juventus, explain some of the details of the team's project and their objectives as well as organizing details for his presentation, which will be an historic moment for the Italian giants.

Agnelli's trip, which is an unprecedented move by the Juve president in itself, is a clear sign that 'The Transfer of the Century' as it's being described in Italy, is on the cusp of happening. Today's meeting is the first step but an official annoucement could be made as early as this evening. Cristiano Ronaldo's Italian days are about to start.
