Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus expected to increase car sales

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles have forecasted a significant increase in sales on the back of Juventus' signing of the former Real Madrid superstar.

The signing of Real Madrid's Cristiano Ronaldo by Juventus for 117 million euros, has more than just repercussions in the footballing world.

Fiat look to cash in on Cristiano

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, who have their Jeep logo as the main sponsor of the Vecchia Signora's merchandise, expect a significant increase in car sales over the next four years, with a target of 3.3 million units by 2022.

"I can see the fit and where it will help strengthen things," advised Chris Chaney, vice president of Fiat's strategy in the United States. "The freedom and the adventure, the openness that Jeep represents, it's appealing to everybody, but it's particularly appealing to Hispanic new-car buyers."

Similarly for 2018, the Italian manufacturer's forecasted global sales target is 1.9 million cars. This would represent more than double the 730,000 cars sold in 2012.

Strike action from Fiat workers

Aside from the positive business projections from the company, an important side note is that surrounding the plight of the workers at Fiat, with their union leading strike action for their members following the huge investent in the Portuguese star.
