Lucas Digne leaves Barça's US tour to complete Everton move
The French full-back has been granted permission from the club to return home. Everton will pay a fee of around 20 million euros for the defender.
Just before the Barcelona expedition were due to take an internal flight from Los Angeles to Dallas, the club confirmed that Lucas Digne would not be boarding the plane with the rest of the players, adding that he has been granted permission to leave the US to complete his transfer to another club.
Barcelona to recuperate Digne investment
The French left-back, who joined Barça from Paris Saint-Germain two years ago (he had been on loan at Roma) for a fee of 16.5 million euros plus a further four million in add-ons, is believed to be close to signing for Everton. The Merseysiders will pay 20 million euros in the operation, meaning that the Catalans will recover the money they laid out for him.
Youth team graduates
Even after letting Digne go, Barcelona have no plans to bring in another full-back to replace him. Jordi Alba will remain first choice on the left flank while B team players Juan Miranda and Marc Cucurella, who were both given a run-out against Tottenham, look set to be registered with the first team squad for the new season.
