Official: Valencia reach agreement for Kevin Gameiro
Valencia issued a statement this evening to confirm an initial agreement had been reached with Atlético Madrid for the French striker who will move on a 16M euro deal.
One of the longet running soap operas of the summer is finally at an end. Kevin Gameiro is now a Valencia player - the club issued a statement shortly after 17:00 hours this evening to confirm that an initial agreement was in place for the Atlético de Madrid striker who is set to complete Marcelino's squad for the new campaign.
Atlético cash in on Gameiro
Valencia will pay Atlético a fee of around 16 million euros for Gameiro plus a further 2-3 million in performance-related add-ons but the total cost of the operation will not reach 20 million euros - Atlético's original asking price.
