Roma's sporting director, Monchi, is becoming one of the most sought after men in the Premier League. Formerly of Sevilla, Monchi has moved to AS Roma where he is applying his savvy to their transfer operations.

On Thursday, The Telegraph report that Chelsea are looking to convince the director to move to London with new manager Maurizio Sarri pushing hard for his arrival.

Monchi is remaining silent for now and is fighting to improve his current side. N'Zonzi is his latest signing after previously bringing him to Sevilla during his spell in the south of Spain. The call for sporting directors in England is increasing as the good work they are doing on the continent is evident. Manchester United recently launched a search for one after their shortcomings in the summer transfer window were apparent.
