Platini: "I don't understand Cristiano Ronaldo's transfer to Juventus"
The former football star and president of Uefa spoke to L'Equipe and confessed to being bewildered by the Portuguese striker's move.
Michel Platini, recognised as one of the greatest French players of all time and who was in charge of Uefa from 2007 to 2015, spoke to French publication L'Equipe and confessed to not understanding why Cristiano Ronaldo had left Real Madrid for Juventus.
Odd for Cristiano Ronaldo to have left Real Madrid
"I think it's odd that at 33 years of age he's left 'his' ReaL Madrid, with who he has won three Champions Leagues in a row, to try a new adventure" said the France number 10. "When I was 32 lots of teams wanted me, but I retired because I was tired", he added.
Platini also questioned the way in which the transfer had taken place, saying he didn't know if Juventus got in touch with Cristiano or if Mendes had offered the striker. "I can't understand the move", said the Frenchman.
