Life at Real Madrid is turning out everything Vinicius Junior had hoped it would - and more. The 18-year-old admitted that even has been surprised at how quickly he had adpated and he's gaining more prominence under new coach Santiago Solari. With Julen Lopetegui, he played a total of just 12 minutes in 14 games; with Solari he already has 135 minutes playing time under his belt in four games. “It's a start which neither myself, my family, nor the people at Real Madrid could ever have imagined. Everyone knew that we were coming to Spain to spend this first year adapting but we've managed to settle in very quickly”, Vinicius told SporTV while on duty with Brazil's Under-20s.

“When I wasn't called by the first team, I was playing with Castilla and I thought that's how it would continue for a while. It was me who asked to play for the reserves, it's better for me to here in Madrid so I can continue my adaptation", he continued, adding that two senior members of the Madrid are helping him through his first few months in the Spanish capital: "I've managed to settle in quickly thanks to Casemiro and Marcelo. I started out with Castilla and now I'm getting more time with the first team. I'm pleased to have got off to a good start and be creating chances for the team. I want evolve and become a better player but without losing my characteristics, which is to play further forward…”.
