The only thing that could distract River Plate and Boca Juniors fans from the final of the Copa Libertadores at the Bernabéu in Madrid was the presence of Lionel Messi. The Argentina and Barcelona star was at Madrid's ground to watch the final of the Copa Libertadores and he was cheered by both sets of fans.
Alongside Messi in the Bernabéu was a long list of the great and good of football.
Messi was at the Bernabéu fresh off firing Barcelona to the top of the league with a demolition job yesterday against Espanyol, in which he scored two superb free-kicks and generally played his socks off.
