The search to replace Guillermo Barros Schelotto as Boca Juniors head coach would appear to be over as Gustavo Alvaro resigned form his post of Huracan manager and is poised to be appointed as new Boca Juniors manager.

2018 Boca Juniors' coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto JAVIER SORIANO AFP Alfaro arrived with el "Globo" in July 2017 and has taken the side from the brink of relegation to a place in the 2019 Copa Libertadores with Huracan currently fourth in the table, ten points of pacemakers Racing Club.
Alfaro is currently on holiday in the United States and arrives back in the Argentine capital tomorrow where he's expected to meet with new Boca sporting director Nicolas Burdisso and president Daniel Angelici where it's anticipated the final details of his two year deal will be ratified.
Following the Libertadores final disappointment the Boca squad are scheduled to return from holiday on January 3 (2019) and will face Unión de Santa Fe (16/1) and Aldosivi (20/1) in pre season friendly games in Mar del Plata.
