"Hazard has refused two Chelsea offers. He's waiting for Madrid"
Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur, who is based in London and has close links with the player, affirmed: "For Eden it's easy; Chelsea or Real Madrid."
Belgian journalist Kristof Terreur has laid out Eden Hazard’s future plans in plain terms as speculation mounts that the Chelsea attacking midfielder will make the move to the Bernabéu in the summer to join Real Madrid.
“Hazard has rejected two offers to renew his contract [at Chelsea] up to now and has made it clear he will not sign anything at the moment. That indicates that he is waiting for something and that can only mean one thing; Real Madrid,” Terreur, who works for Het Laatse Nieuws and VTM Nieuws. The reporter, who has close ties with Hazard’s inner circle, added: “At the moment there is no kind of deal between the player and Madrid, or with Chelsea. Madrid have yet to make their move. There hasn’t even been a phone call like there was last summer. When Madrid called then, [Chelsea director] Marina Granovskaia told them that Hazard was not for sale and they respected that. But Madrid could come back again because they need to improve their squad after this season and it’s easy to negotiate for players who are in the last year of their contract.”
Hazard "not interested in PSG"
Hazard’s current Chelsea deal expires in 2020 and Chelsea have reportedly put a price tag on his departure next summer, the Premier League club preferring to land a decent amount of cash for their star player rather than see him run down the final year of his deal and leave on a free. And Terreur explained that the Belgium international only has two clubs on his mind:
“For Hazard it is simple; either he stays at Chelsea or he goes to Real Madrid. He is not interested in PSG. They have been sniffing about for a long time and they always get the same response: Hazard has already played in Ligue 1 and he would only go back t play for Lille, if he was to return to France one day. Eden, his wife and his children are happy. If the dream of moving to Real Madrid doesn’t happen, he’ll stay at Chelsea and sign a contract for life. But I think he will push so that Real Madrid make their move. It all depends on them now.”
