Vinicius Junior has gone from being the great hope to one of the solutions in Real Madrid's recent  positive performances. The Brazilian made his sixth consecutive start in the Copa del Rey tie against Girona and was instrumental in winning a penalty for his side, being involved in the Sergio Ramos goal to make it 3-2 and offered the assist for Benzema which sealed a 4-2 win for Solari's men on the night. The teenager was a constant source of danger for Madrid on the left flank, completing five crosses, creating six chances as well as winning a series of fouls for his side in dangerous areas. Thursday's performance epitomises the key influence the player has in the current Real Madrid side.

Statistics also reinforce his weight of influence. In 881 minutes of playing time, Vinicius has scored twice, bagged two with the aid of deflections (against Valladolid and Al Ain), provided six assists and won one penalty for the team. The Brazilian is directly involved in a goal each 80 minutes of playing time and is the highest ranked Madrid player when using this gauge. He leads the likes of Gareth Bale, who is involved in a goal every 115 minutes (10 goals and five assists in 1,731 minutes of action) and Benzema who contributes to a goal every 132 minutes (13 strikes, five assists and a penalty awarded).

"Vinicius has grown greatly since his arrival. He's just 18 but offers a fresh approach and is a source pf constant danger for our opponents", maintained Solari after the cup win. It's clear to see the faith and confidence the Argentinian coach has deposited in the former Flamengo player. Vinicius has played seven times in 2109, starting six. He's seen 532' of match action and only Ramos (540') and Casemiro (566') have played more than the Brazilian this calendar year so far.
