Discover Cristiano's local bar when he lived in Madrid

Every madrileño has their own favourite bar when they can go for a quiet coffee, breakfast or a bite to eat to unwind - it's a standard part of life in the Spanish capital and Cristiano Ronaldo was no different during the nine years he lived in Madrid.

We visited his local, Bar Miranda and chatted to the owner and employees as well as other customers such as Monchi, who all remember Cristiano well.  “He’d usually come here with his family. A bit later on, he’d bring other players, team mates,” explained owner Fernando Miranda “Fábio Coentrao, players from Atleti, Marcelo, Pepe… “

Bar Miranda regular Monchi remembers CR7's visits: “He’d pop in with friends, sometimes other players from the Real Madrid squad. Cristiano would walk in the whole place would just stop. All of the shirts you can see here on the walls were presents from Cristiano”. María Rodrigues, who in charge of preparing the food at Bar Miranda said you could not imagine meeting a more normal person: “The most surprising thing was that, although he has an air of being a bit full of himself when you see him on TV, he is nothing like that at all in person – totally the opposite”.
