Real Madrid’s inexorable pursuit of Chelsea and Belgium midfielder Eden Hazard may have hit a snag in the form of the FIFA transfer ban handed down to the Premier League club but the Bernabéu board are mulling a potential alternative from the opposite end of the English capital in the form of West Ham’s Felipe Anderson.

Hazard remains set on a move to the Bernabéu but Chelsea will be extremely unwilling to part with their star player if the transfer ban remains in place for the ordered two windows, meaning Real Madrid will have to look elsewhere. Christian Eriksen remains a target, but a considerably more expensive one than Anderson, who would be priced at around 75 million euros by the Hammers.

Anderson, who has been recalled to the Brazil squad by Tite after a stand-out season in East London that has reaped nine goals and five assists across 35 games in all competitions, arrived at the London Stadium from Lazio last summer for around 40 million euros and West Ham would likely be tempted on the possibility of doubling their money despite the Brazilian’s fine debut season in the Premier League.
