Atlanta United ranked tenth in worldwide attendance
The MLS franchise, which debuted in 2017 as an expansion club, is in the top ten best supported sides according to a CIES Football Observatory study.
Attendance for Major League Soccer matches ranks among the best in global soccer, having seen significant growth between 2003 to 2018. In fact, the MLS saw the second largest growth among global leagues with a 34% increase, going from an average attendance of 15,920 to 21,358 according to a study led by CIES Football Observatory, behind only Poland which saw a growth of 47%.
But looking at attendance at individual club level it's Atlanta United and the Seattle Sounders which are ranking up there alongside the world's elite teams.

The Five Stripes debuted as an expansion club in 2017 but is placed in the 10th spot on the ranking with an average attendance of 51,547. The MLS Cup final hosted at the team's home stadium broke the attendance record - higher even than the crowd at Super Bowl LIII - with some 73,019 spectators.
German club, Borussia Dortmund leads the chart at 80,000 with Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid all in the top ten. Atlanta United ranked ahead of Manchester City, Newcastle United, Liverpool, Benfica and Spanish team, Atlético Madrid.
The Sounders made the list at 29th place across the globe with an average attendance of 42,797, ahead of Mexican team Club America, AC Milan and Chelsea among others.
