Barcelona thinking about Álex Moreno as Jordi Alba reliever
Barcelona are in the market for a Jordi Alba replacement with none in the squad at present and they are linked with Rayo Vallecano's Álex Moreno.
Álex Moreno, relegated Rayo Vallecano's left-back, is mulling over an offer from Real Betis and interest from Barcelona. The league champions are looking for a left-back to relieve Jordi Alba of his duty when he needs rest with no natural replacement in the squad at present.
Barcelona are also thinking and Marc Cucurella, who left for Eibar and has played well this season, but are unsure over this option for next season.
Born and raised in Barcelona
He was developed at Barcelona before leaving and moving up the ranks at Llagostera, Mallorca B, Rayo and Elche. Despite Rayo's poor defensive record and ultimate relegation this season, Moreno's form has caught the eye of several teams. He has a contract until 2021 but the interest from Barça has him doubting his future having come through at La Masia and with links to the club.
With Rayo relegated, his future could be decided soon and Real Betis, with nothing to play for either, are keen to get a deal done. Barcelona have three more games to win a treble and have all their focus on this season, which could hurt them and help Betis in negotiations.
